Selection & Configuration

How do I size a controller for my light power?

First determine the LED power (e.g. 60W) and pick a model rated ≥ that drive capacity. Then choose the platform by battery voltage (3.2V single-cell for low/mid power, 12.8V 4-cell recommended for ≥80W). Finally verify the charging current ≥ PV short-circuit current. Every product spec table lists charging current, output power and suggested PV range.

Potted or open-frame — which do I choose?

Potted controllers are IP65 waterproof with aluminum heat dissipation — ideal for exposed outdoor street lights. Open-frame boards are compact and cost-effective, suited to embedding in profile lamps and sheltered yard lights. For outdoor projects, potted models are recommended.

What is 0V charging?

When a battery is fully drained (down to 0V), ordinary controllers cannot start charging. Selected Shengqi controllers support 0V charging — charging starts as soon as the PV panel produces power, so a fully drained battery can be recovered without manual intervention. Check each model's product features, or ask us before ordering.

Can the radar sensing range be adjusted?

Sensing range depends on mounting height — typically a 5–8 m radius at 3/4/6 m. Nominal figures (radius or distance) vary slightly by model, so check the spec table. Some models allow sensitivity and hold-time adjustment via the engineering remote.

Battery & Charging

How do I estimate battery capacity?

Simple formula: capacity ≈ light power × runtime × 2 margin ÷ battery voltage. E.g. 60W for 10h on a 3.2V system: 60×10×2÷3.2 ≈ 375Ah (adjust for 2 cloudy days). Models with coulomb counter + AI precisely track remaining capacity for reliable runtime.

What does “no battery protection board” mean?

The controller integrates full charge/discharge management (overcharge, over-discharge, current limiting), so cells can be connected in parallel without an external protection board — lower PACK cost and higher capacity utilization, with relaxed cell consistency requirements.

How long will lights run on cloudy/rainy days?

It depends on battery capacity and PV configuration. Shengqi's coulomb counter + AI precisely tracks remaining charge and optimizes discharge; mains-complementary models switch to mains direct-supply at low battery, avoiding blackouts when the battery is depleted. Size battery margin for your local cloudy-season length.

Installation & Usage

How do I wire the controller?

Standard wiring: S+/S- to the PV panel, BAT+/BAT- to the battery, LED+/LED- to the light — connect battery first, then PV, then light. Mains-complementary models add a 12V mains input. Download the spec sheet for full wiring diagrams.

How do I program the discharge curve or brightness?

Bluetooth models are tuned via the WeChat mini-program; IR models use the engineering remote to program 8-segment dimming curves and dawn boost, both with OTA upgrade support. Light-control thresholds are also remote-configurable.

What does IP65 mean?

IP65 = fully dust-tight plus protected against water jets from any direction. Combined with the aluminum housing, it suits long-term outdoor exposure with -40°C to 80°C operation.

Partnership & Support

Do you support OEM/ODM customization?

Yes. Solar fans can be customized in motor, blades and features; controllers can be customized in default parameters, silkscreen and packaging. Sample support is available for brand partnerships.

How do I get samples and pricing?

Contact us via phone, WeChat or email with your project configuration (light power, battery, PV panel) — we'll respond with selection guidance, pricing and sample support.

What is the warranty policy?

All products are fully tested before shipment; non-human damage within the warranty period is repaired or replaced free of charge. Confirm warranty terms with our sales team at order time.
